Our Story
Hey there! We are Carlos and Melissa Sousa. We're two food-loving souls with a passion for all things Portuguese! Originally from New Jersey, we've soaked up the vibrant Portuguese culture. In 2018, we landed in North Carolina, only to find the Portuguese food scene a bit sparse. But, being the adventurous duo we are, we embraced the challenge and savored every bit of Portuguese flavor we could find.
Guess what? We weren't alone! Many fellow Portuguese expats in America shared our craving for a taste of home. So, we asked ourselves: Why isn't there a go-to spot for finding Portuguese cuisine all over the US? E pronto, Joao's List was born!
